Poultry Surgery

Bumblebee is a much loved 7 year old chicken who had an ongoing problem with ingrowing feathers which were causing a cluster of infected cysts on her abdomen.

We felt the best way to manage this problem was to surgically remove the affected tissue.

Eve Thomas - Preforming surgery on Bumblebee the chicken.

The surgery was a complete success thanks to Veterinary Surgeon Eve and our incredible team. Bumblebee had a very stable anesthetic, she was intubated and had a drip placed in one of her wing veins to help support her blood pressure under anesthetic.

Hannah RVN - Post Operation Care

Post Operative Care

Pictured here is Hannah our head RVN who is dedicated to post-operative care. All clients are sent home with post-operative care sheets tailored to their animal’s needs with added reminders that we are 24 hour emergency care should they have any quires.

Bumblebee went home and was happy and comfortable as if nothing had happened. We are most pleased with the outcome of her surgery and she looked great at her post-op check.
